From the Cockpit:
Erik Jones: ‘Phoenix is a great track for JGR and one that I really enjoy going to every year. It is one of my favorite tracks where we compete and has proved to be a track I run well on and have seen success both in the Truck Series with getting my first NASCAR win back in 2013 and another win in 2014, as well as in the XFINITY Series. Gabehart (Chris, crew chief) and the 20 team brought great Camry’s last season and we came close to winning this race last season, winning the pole and finishing second to Kyle (Busch). This weekend should be fun and hopefully we can run up front and be around at the end with a shot at the win.”
From the Pit Box:
Chris Gabehart: “The entire 20 Reser’s Toyota Camry team is excited to get to Phoenix this weekend and have Erik back in the car for the first time since Daytona. Phoenix is not only a great track for Erik and one of his favorite tracks, but one where the 20 team ran well last year and JGR has seen success. We were able to get a pole at Phoenix early in the season last year and came close to a win with a second-place finish. I think we’ll be just as fast this year and up front at the end looking to capitalize on a great day and finish one position better than last year when we competed in the ‘Valley of the Sun’.”
