Spark Energy 300 at Talladega Superspeedway

No. 20 Reser’s American Classics Toyota Camry News and Notes:

·        JONES AT TALLADEGA SUPERSPEEDWAY: Erik Jones will make his third-career start at Talladega Superspeedway this weekend in the NASCAR XFINITY Series (NXS) behind the wheel of the No. 20 Reser’s American Classics Toyota Camry. In his previous two starts at the track, Jones has finished 30th and 21st after being involved in on-track incidents. Jones has two NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) starts, leading seven laps and earning a sixth-place and fourth-place finish.

·        JGR AT TALLADEGA SUPERSPEEDWAY Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR) has 40 total starts at Talladega Superspeedway in NXS competition earning five wins, 11 top-five finishes, 16 top-10 finishes and five pole starting positions. The team has led 286 laps, completed 4,113 of 4,684 attempted laps (87.8%) and earned an average start of 9.9 and an average finish of 17.2. Each of the five wins have come from different drivers starting with Mike McLaughlin in 2001 followed by Tony Stewart in 2008, Kyle Busch in 2011, Joey Logano in 2012 and most recently, Elliott Sadler in 2014.

Like Daytona, Talladega is a place where you can’t do a lot as a driver other than to try to stay out of trouble. I know Gabehart (Chris, crew chief) will bring another fast car this weekend, we’ll just need to put ourselves in the right positions throughout the race, make it through each stage and if we can do that, I have no doubt we’ll have a shot at the end.”
