The weather was tentative but that didn’t stop local and out of state NASCAR fans from visiting Byron, Michigan on Saturday, June 15, to the area school where Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series driver Erik Jones hosted the 2019 Erik Jones Fan Day. While the rain stayed away, over 600 followers from multiple states spent the day with the up and coming motorsports star, whose home roots were not more than two miles from the celebration area. Erik invited everyone through an autograph line, offered food and free games with prizes donated by Joe Gibbs Racing partners and had several show vehicles on hand, including his 2018 Daytona win Toyota. The inaugural class of Erik Jones Fan Club Members met with Erik, took photos and discussed fun activities ahead. In addition the local band Shiatown rocked the yard in between rounds of raffle prizes, classic car show judging, Q&A with the superstar and even a few pet adoptions. Erik Jones Racing merchandise was sold and fans were quick to ask when the Fan Day event could happen again. Photos from the event day are available at www.erikjonesracing.com/gallery.
