News: Las Vegas Qualifying Report
March 1, 2019 - Erik Jones and the No. 20 Sport Clips Camry team took to another 1.5-mile raceway at Las Vegas (Nev.) Motor Speedway on Friday night to qualify their Toyota Camry. While the car is strong the team and Jones didn’t transfer to the final round, and earned an 18th-place starting spot for Sunday’s main event. According to Erik Jones after his run, “You have to get the right tow, the right push and we didn’t have it there. It’s unfortunate. The Sport Clips Camry is driving okay, just not enough tonight to make it into the last round.”
The team continued to make improvements to the car during a final practice session on Saturday, then selected pit stall 28 for the Sunday race starting at 3:30pm ET on FOX.
