• In 2023, a new era dawned for Erik Jones and the No. 43 team as racing legend Jimmie Johnson acquired an ownership stake in Petty GMS, leading to the rebranding of the team as LEGACY MOTOR CLUB.
    Jones secured the team's first top-10 and top-five results, notably achieving a season-high third-place finish at Kansas Speedway in the fall.
  • With the merger of GMS Racing and Richard Petty Motorsports (RPM) for the 2022 season, Jones competed in his second year behind the wheel of the famed No. 43 Chevrolet and first season for Petty GMS in 2022.
    Jones won at Darlington (SC) Raceway on September 4, 2022, to become a two-time Southern 500 winner. Jones finished his fifth full year of Cup competition with one win, three top-five and 13 top-10 finishes.
  • In 2021, Jones joined Richard Petty Motorsports (RPM) to drive the No. 43 Chevrolet for the “The King,” Richard Petty, in the NASCAR Cup Series.
    Jones scored six top-10 finishes – the most for RPM since 2017 – and they came on an assortment of tracks, from the dirt at Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway to the road course at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, the high banks of Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway and NASCAR’s oldest and smallest track, Martinsville (Va.) Speedway.
  • Jones kicked-off the 2020 NASCAR Cup Series season with a win in the Busch Clash, an annual invitation-only 75-lap exhibition race at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway.

    On the night of his 100th series start, Erik Jones claimed the most important victory of his career in the Bojangles’ Southern 500 race at Darlington Raceway. Jones held off teammate Kyle Busch and a charging Kyle Larson to take the lead and cross the finish line a winner. The victory was Jones’ first of 2019 and the second of his career.
  • Jones earned his first-career NASCAR Cup Series victory at Daytona International Speedway
    battling back from one lap down to lead the last lap and capture the win at the Coke Zero Sugar 400 on July 7, 2018. He finished the season with one win, nine top-five finishes, 18 top-10 finishes, one pole and 99 laps led.
  • Jones finished his freshman season in the NASCAR Cup Series
    as the 2017 Sunoco Rookie of the Year, making his mark in the history books as the first driver to capture the honor in all three of NASCAR’s top level of competition. Jones completed the season with five top-five finishes, 14 top-10 finishes, one pole and 310 laps led. In addition to his Cup Series season, Jones competed in 18 NASCAR XFINITY Series (NXS) races earning three wins, nine top-five finishes, 10 top-10 finishes, three poles and led 751 laps.
  • During the 2016 Season, Jones competed full-time in the Xfinity Series
    for JGR earning four wins, 15 top-five finishes, 20 top-10 finishes, nine pole awards and led 627 laps to finish the season fourth in the point standings and claim the 2016 Sunoco Rookie of the Year honors.
  • IN 2015 JONES BECAME THE YOUNGEST NASCAR CAMPING WORLD TRUCK SERIES (NCWTS) CHAMPION
    at 19 years, 5 months and 21 days while also collecting Rookie of the Year honors. He finished the 2015 NCWTS season with three wins, five poles, 11 top-five finishes and 20 top-10 finishes.
  • Jones made his official NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) Debut
    at Kansas Speedway on May 9, 2015 subbing for Kyle Busch in the No. 18 Toyota Camry.
  • Won First NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS) Race
    at Texas Motor Speedway on April 10, 2015 in the No. 20 Camry, starting the race from the pole and leading 79 laps.
  • Jones became the youngest driver to complete triple duty after competing in all three series at Texas Motor Speedway, November 6-8, 2015.

  • In addition to his NASCAR victories in 2015, Jones earned the Super Late Model Triple Crown
    Erik is the only driver to win CRA Super Late Model events at Berlin Speedway, Anderson Speedway, and the Winchester 400 in a single season.

    at Chicagoland Speedway in the No. 20 Camry for Joe Gibbs Racing. He started the race from the fourth position and led two laps on his way to a solid seventh-place finish.

    on November 8, 2013 in just his fifth-career start in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series driving for Kyle Busch Motorsports.
  • He became the first 16-year-old to compete in a NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race since Kyle Busch

  • In 2013, Jones became the third driver in history to score back-to-back victories in the Snowball Derby
    at Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola, Fla., one year after holding off Kyle Busch to pick up his first win.
  • At the age of 14, Jones became the youngest winner in ASA Late Model History
    when he won the Bob Cross Memorial at Dixie Motor Speedway, breaking the previous record of 16 years of age.
