Erik Jones Finishes in the 10th-place at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway

Erik Jones and the NO. 43 Medallion Ban k Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE team finished in the 10th-place in the NASCAR Cup Series (NCS) Pennzoil 400 presented by Jiffy Lube at the Las Vegas (Nev.) Motor Speedway on Sunday, March 7.

The lineup for the 267-lap event was determined by using NASCAR's competition-based formula, which takes into account finishing positions from the previous race (weighted 25% driver, 27th-place Homestead-Miami Speedway), the ranking in team owner points (35%, 30th-place) and the fastest lap from the previous race (15%). Jones started the event at the 1.5-mile track in Las Vegas, Nev., from the 29th-place on Row 15.

The 24-year-old Byron, Michigan, native was scored as high as the sixth-place at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

"It was a really good day for Richard Petty Motorsports in the No. 43 Medallion Bank Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE. It was a good day to build on - way better than last week at the Homestead-Miami (Fla.) Speedway. We are really headed in the right direction. Our team tried a lot of different things this week, made a lot of different changes and it is just nice to see them pay-off to get a top -10 finish. That was definitely our goal for today, I felt like. Hopefully we can keep building on that and continue to get better and better each week."
