From the Driver’s Seat:

Erik Jones: “Phoenix has been a good place to me through all of my NASCAR races, getting my first Truck win there and always running well there. I’m excited to go back with the Cup Series this year and hopefully have another chance to go up and contend for a win in our Reser’s Camry. We’ve learned a lot the last few weeks with the new package and I think we’ll be able to carry a lot of that in to Phoenix.”

From the Pit Box:

Chris Gayle: “This has been a pretty good track for Erik and the 20 team over the last couple of seasons, so it easy to get excited about heading to ISM raceway. To stay in line with the theme of the package/rules changes for this season, this will be our first short track race of the year, but with a drastically different downforce level than we raced in 2018. Pretty much only the engine remains the same from 2018. We also have a new tire for this track to accommodate the potential speed increase from the new rules, so a lot of new things to tackle this event. We’re excited to see how this changes the racing, and how well we adapt to these new changes. I believe the speeds are going to be really fast and it may make passing tougher than before, so starting up front will be more important than ever before. We’ll do all we can to focus on qualifying on Friday, and then finding what we need to race well on Saturday. I think this is another interesting challenge, and the whole team is looking to get back on track and running in the top five every weekend. We certainly feel like we have the potential to do that at ISM this weekend.”
