Kansas Qualifying Report – Erik Jones Starting 21st

The NASCAR Cup Series is visiting the 1.5 mile Kansas Speedway this week for the Super Start Batteries on Thursday, July 23rd. NASCAR announced this week that the remainder of the 2020 season will not include any practice or qualifying prior to race day. This decision was made in an effort to prevent the spread of Covid-19 at the track among crew members and drivers.

Erik Jones in the No. 20 Reser's "Thanks Employees"  Toyota Camry will be starting in the 21st position for Thursday's race. This will be Erik's 8th start at Kansas Speedway, the track Erik had his first Cup series start at in 2015. The starting lineup was determined by a random live drawing that was aired on FS1's "Race Hub".
