Michigan Qualifying Report – Erik Jones Starting 23rd

The NASCAR Cup Series headed to the Irish Hills of Michigan this weekend for a double header at Michigan International Speedway. The results of the Firekeepers Casino 400 scheduled for Saturday will determine the lineup for Sunday's Consumer's Energy 400. NASCAR continues to cancel all events prior to the race, including practice sessions and qualifying. This decision was made in an effort to prevent the spread of Covid-19 at the track among crew members, drivers, and track personnel.

Erik Jones in the No. 20 Stanley Toyota Camry will be starting in the 23rd position for Saturday's race. Michigan International Speedway is a special track for Jones' being only an hour from his hometown of Byron, Michigan. The starting lineup was determined by a random live drawing that was aired on FS1's "Race Hub".
