From the Driver’s Seat:

Erik Jones: “We had a good car the last time we were at Michigan, but had a flat tire towards the end of the race, so it didn’t work out. We ran good at Michigan in the past and we are always in contention at the bigger tracks with our cars. Hopefully we can keep the momentum going and get a win at my home track. That would be a special win for sure. Home track for me at the top level would be pretty special. It’s definitely the one that I have circled above the other tracks that I would like to win at. I think everyone wants to win at the home track.”

From the Pit Box:

Chris Gayle: “It’s a good weekend to be heading back to a track we ran really well at earlier this year. Just like the second Pocono, this is another place we head back to with a notebook and ideas on how to improve from the first race. As a team we’re hitting our stride and adding a little bit of consistency that we lacked in the early part of the season. This weekend will be a little different schedule for us compared to the first event, with a separate qualifying day and not being an impound event, so we’ll have more time to focus on the two aspects of the weekend, with Friday spent in qualifying trim and Saturday spent in race trim. Hopefully we can avoid contact and cut tires like we had in the first event, and keep on this good streak of top-five finishes. It would be great to break thru and get the first win of 2019 at Erik’s home track.”
