Erik Jones: “Indianapolis has been a good track for me. We ran second there last year and had a chance to win. Hopefully we can take the momentum from Darlington and seal the deal this year. It’s going to be a fun weekend. No pressure at all going to Indy, nothing for us to really gain other than another win which would be really nice at Indianapolis. It’s nice to have that momentum on your side. Momentum racing is as big as it is in any sport and it’s going to carry us in to the playoffs and hopefully in to the playoffs with a solid run.”

Chris Gayle: “The Brickyard is one of my favorite events of the season due to its long storied racing history. It’s also nice to be going without the worry of having to race for points, or any concern about playoff implications. Even questions about us being so close to a win, when do you guys think it’ll happen, can be put to rest following Darlington. I think it’s going to be a very interesting race at Indianapolis with the 2019 aero package. Indy is a track that was already a one groove track in the past with a low downforce package, it’s just one of those tracks that has a huge history, but unfortunately only one ideal racing groove. I think this will make strategy and maintaining track position very important for winning and finishing well in this event. We ran really well in 2018 with no practice, and I feel like given some time on the track this 20 team can go run well again and challenge for that one additional position we needed in 2018. We’ll go and do everything we can to “Kiss the Bricks” at the end of this event.”

- JONES AT INDIANAPOLIS MOTOR SPEEDWAY: Erik Jones will make his third-career Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series start at Indianapolis Motor Speedway this weekend driving the No. 20 STANLEY Wish for Our Heroes Toyota Camry. In his previous two Cup Series starts at the track, Jones has a best finish of second in last season’s event. He also led 10 laps in the 2017 event before a late-race accident took him out of contention for the win.
- JGR AT INDIANAPOLIS MOTOR SPEEDWAY: Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR) has 63 total starts at Indianapolis Motor Speedway in Cup Series competition. In those starts, the team has earned five wins, 22 top-five finishes, 34 top-10 finishes and five pole starting positions. The team has led 697 laps, completed 9,863 of 10,166 attempted laps (97.0%) and earned an average start of 14.9 and an average finish of 13.5. Tony Stewart (2205 and 2007) and Kyle Busch (2015 and 2016) each have two wins for the team with Bobby Labonte earning the first Brickyard win for JGR in 2000.
- THIS WEEK ON THE NO. 20 CAMRY: This week on the No. 20 STANEY Toyota Camry, STANLEY Security and Wish for Our Heroes will be featured on the car. As part of their weekend activation and the partnership with Wish for Our Heroes, STANLEY Security will honor a veteran with a once-in-a-lifetime VIP experience during Sunday’s race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. In addition to the Wish for Our Heroes logo on the No. 20 car for the race weekend, a booth will be on site for fans to learn more about the organization throughout the weekend. With the moto “Granting Wishes, One Hero At A Time,” Jones, the No. 20 team and JGR are happy to be a part of this weekend’s wish.
- DARLINGTON RACE RECAP: Starting the Southern 500 from the 15th position, the No. 20 Toyota Camry team worked early in the race to improve the handling of the car and with each pit stop, gained Jones positions and made the car more to his liking. As the race continued, Jones found himself in the top five and eventually the lead. Jones was able to lead a total of 79 laps on his way to capturing his first win of the season in his 100th-career Cup Series start.
- RACE INFO: The Big Machine Vocka 400 at The Brickyard is scheduled for Sunday, September 8, 2019. Coverage will begin at 2:00 p.m. ET on NBC, ISM Radio, SIRIUS XM Channel 90 and NBC Sports App.
