Talladega Qualifying Report – Erik Jones Starting 16th

The NASCAR Cup Series is at the infamous Talladega Superspeedway this weekend for the YellaWood 500 set to take place on Sunday. All events prior to the race, including practice sessions and qualifying, remain cancelled in an effort to prevent the spread of Covid-19 at the track among crew members, drivers, and track personnel. NASCAR is continuing to implement the new method of determining race line-ups that factors in each driver’s finishing position from the previous race, ranking in team owner points and the fastest lap from the previous race.

Erik Jones in the No. 20 Sport Clips Toyota Camry will be starting in the 16th position for Sunday's race. Jones finished 5th in the GEICO 400 this past June, his best finish at Talladega Superspeedway to date. Tune in Sunday at 2pm EST on NBC to see the action unfold.
