Erik Jones Finishes in the 22nd-place at the Pocono Raceway

Erik Jones and the No. 43 Medallion Bank Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE team finished in the 22nd-place in the NASCAR Cup Series (NCS) Pocono Organics CBD 325 at the Pocono (Pa.) Raceway on Saturday, June 26.

The lineup for the 130-lap event was determined by using NASCAR's competition-based formula, which takes into account finishing positions from the previous race (weighted 25% owner and 25% driver, 19th-place Nashville), the ranking in team owner points (35%, 24th-place) and the fastest lap from the previous race (15%). Jones started the event at the 2.5-mile "Tricky Triangle" from the 22nd-place on Row 11. The double event weekend did not include practice sessions or qualifying for the series.

At the end of Stage 1 on Lap 25, he was in the 19th-place. By the end of Stage 2 on Lap 77, Jones was scored in the 17th-place. The 25-year-old Byron, Michigan, native was scored as high as the 11th-place at the Pocono Raceway.

Saturday marks the first of two NASCAR Cup Series races at the Pocono Raceway for the NASCAR doubleheader weekend.

"It was an up and down day for our No. 43 Medallion Bank Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE, but just got too tight at the end. Hopefully, we can go to work tonight and get our Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE to do the things we need it to do better - for a better finish tomorrow."
