Erik Jones Finishes in the 25th-place at the Kansas Speedway

Erik Jones and the No. 43 Black Entrepreneur Initiative Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE team finished in the 25th-place in the NASCAR Cup Series (NCS) Buschy McBusch Race 400 at the Kansas Speedway on Sunday, May 2.

The lineup for the 267-lap event was determined by using NASCAR's competition-based formula, which takes into account finishing positions from the previous race (weighted 25% owner and 25% driver, 27th-place Talladega), the ranking in team owner points (35%, 27th-place) and the fastest lap from the previous race (15%). Jones started the 400.5-mile event at the 1.5-mile speedway located in Kansas City, Kan., from the 27th-place on Row 14. He had to start at the rear of the field due to a received penalty for a pre-race infraction.

The 24-year-old Byron, Michigan, native was scored as high as second place at Kansas Speedway.

"Just a tough day for our No. 43 Black Entrepreneur Initiative Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE. We have some things to improve on with our mile-and-half program, but we know which direction to go."
